Disc herniations result from inner disc material (nucleus tissue) protruding or pushing through outer walls (annular fibers) of a disc. Low Back Surgery is an Invasive, Permanent, Unreliable, and a Risky Surgery
Low back surgery (LBS) often involves removing/cutting out disc tissue, cutting spine bones, and in some cases fusing spine bones using rods, screws, and plates. The risk for heart attack, strokes, blood clots, major infection, pneumonia, nerve injury, paralysis, and death can be significant. LBS is often invasive and comes with significant recovery time and the scar tissue and change in anatomy is permanent. Even worse is that many patients do not see any improvement from surgery and there is little scientific evidence that Surgery reliably helps, in fact, there is evidence that it can make things worse. When disc tissue is removed the disc has been shown to be at increased risk of recurrent herniation or tearing.
